About
Our Mission
Seaside Counseling and Wellness Center was established by the visionary Christie Davis, whose own struggle with loss inspired her to create a wellness center for others whose lives have been disrupted by mental health. Our Mission is to provide comprehensive therapeutic services to adults, children, adolescents, and geriatrics in an effective, efficient, and culturally sensitive manner by strengthening the whole person. This is accomplished through a holistic approach to psychotherapy coupled with a partnership from the individual served. We are dedicated to empowering clients to achieve their optimal potential through a continuum of care.
Our Vision
Our vision is to elevate the therapeutic care being offered to marginalized communities and strengthen the integrity of the mental health field through the development of trained, dedicated clinicians, and community workers. We are open, supportive, non-judgmental, and committed to helping you feel confident and safe in sharing your emotions, thoughts, and problems. Our team is invested in helping you grow beyond your circumstances to reveal a better you.
Have you ever heard the saying “The same wave that can be a source of pain can be a beautiful flowing grace and source of power. It is all a matter of how you respond to it.”
– Trey Anastasio
As a psychotherapist, I cannot stop the waves from coming, but I am here to meet you in the middle of the sea and guide you to where the sand meets the water. In a world that often tells us to be more, do more, or buy more, it is challenging to feel good enough. If you are feeling exhausted from treading water, I am here to be your guiding light. Through psychotherapy, I can support you on a journey of self-discovery, helping you to heal unresolved issues, and transform into your authentic self.

Meet the Therapist
Hello, I’m Christie Davis, LCSW, LCAS-A
I am the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Seaside Counseling and Wellness Center in Eastern North Carolina. As a psychotherapist, I have close to 15 years of clinical experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate in the state of North Carolina. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&TSU) and a Master's of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Other certifications include, Certified Recovery Coach since 2023.
My experience as a highly trained professional has afforded me the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings within the mental health field such as community mental health, correctional institutions, integrated behavioral health, and private practice. Through personal experience plus exposure to a wide variety of clientele, I have come to realize my passion is to help marginalized communities gain access to basic human rights. By embracing a holistic view of the individual, encouraging clients to consider how their sense of self affects their symptoms, functioning, and experience of the world around them. I believe it is important to build a therapeutic relationship together in a safe collaborative space where you can feel genuinely seen and heard. Through honest introspection, therapeutic reflection, and a personalized approach, I use client-centered treatment to help individuals achieve self-actualization.
